Latest company news about Custom LCD display screens. What kind of information do we usually need? Let Bibuke tell you.

When customizing LCD displays, detailed information needs to be provided to ensure that the supplier can accurately understand the requirements and produce products that meet the specifications. The following are the core materials that usually need to be prepared, which can be divided into several categories: technical parameters, application scenarios and environments, appearance and structure, certifications and standards, etc.

1. Core technical parameters

This is the basis for customization, directly determining the performance and compatibility of the display screen.
Display type

Clearly specify the technical type of the LCD, such as:
TN type (twisted nematic type, low cost, small viewing angle)
STN type (super twisted nematic type, better contrast and viewing angle than TN)
TFT type (thin film transistor type, color, high resolution, wide viewing angle)
VA type (vertical alignment type, high contrast, suitable for dark display)

Size and resolution

Physical size: such as 1.44 inches, 5 inches, 10.1 inches (usually refers to the diagonal length).

Resolution: that is, the number of pixels (such as 320×240, 1920×1080), the number of horizontal (X) and vertical (Y) pixels needs to be clearly specified.

Pixel arrangement: such as RGB arrangement (color screen), monochrome pixel arrangement (black and white screen). Display mode
Color: Monochrome (black/white, blue/white, etc.), pseudo-color, true color (24-bit/32-bit).

Display orientation: Default horizontal/vertical. Whether custom rotation is required (such as 90°/180°).

Backlight: Type (LED backlight is the most common, specify if it is side-entry or direct-entry), color (white light, blue light, warm light, etc.), brightness (unit cd/m²), life requirement (such as 50,000 hours).

Interface parameters

Interface type: Such as SPI, I²C, RGB, LVDS, MIPI-DSI, HDMI, etc. (must match the driver board or main control device).
Signal voltage: Such as 3.3V, 5V (digital signal / power voltage).

Timing parameters: Such as refresh rate (60Hz/120Hz), line/field synchronization signal requirements (for RGB/LVDS interfaces).
Optical characteristics

Viewing angle: Horizontal/vertical viewing angle range (such as 170°/170°, affecting the display effect at different angles).
Contrast ratio: Such as 1000:1 (affecting the brightness and darkness levels of the picture).

Response time: Such as 5ms (affecting the ghosting of dynamic pictures, TFT screens need to be emphasized).

II. Application scenarios and environmental requirements

The working environment of the display screen directly affects the material selection and design. It is necessary to clarify:
Operating temperature range: such as -20℃~70℃ (industrial grade), 0℃~50℃ (consumer grade), extreme environments need to be specified.

Storage temperature range: such as -30℃~80℃ (temperature tolerance during transportation or storage).

Humidity requirements: such as 5%~95% RH (no condensation).
Protection level: such as IP65 (dust and water resistance, commonly used in outdoor or industrial scenarios), scratch-resistant (need to add a hardening film or cover).
Special environments: whether anti-electromagnetic interference (EMI) is required, vibration resistance (for vehicle / industrial scenarios), UV resistance (for outdoor use), etc.

III. Appearance and structural design

Shape and structure:
Size tolerance: allowable error of length / width / thickness (such as ±0.1mm).
Installation method: such as snap-fit, screw fixation, adhesive, whether to reserve installation holes.
Frame: with or without frame, frame width (such as 2mm on one side).

Cover plate and surface treatment:

Whether to add a cover plate (glass / acrylic), cover plate thickness, material (such as tempered glass).
Surface treatment: anti-glare (AG), anti-fingerprint (AF), anti-reflective film (AR), etc. (depending on the usage scenario, such as anti-glare for outdoor use).
Identification and silk-screening: whether to print text, logo, scales, etc. on the screen or frame (provide silk-screen pattern and position diagram).

IV. Certification and standards

If used in a specific industry, it is necessary to meet relevant certifications, such as:
Consumer electronics: CE (European Union), FCC (United States), RoHS (environmental protection).
Vehicle scenarios: ISO 16750 (vehicle electronic environment testing), AEC-Q100 (component reliability).
Medical equipment: ISO 13485 (medical quality management system).
Other standards: lead-free process (Pb-Free), environmental requirements, etc.

V. Other supplementary information

Quantity and delivery cycle: for batch customization, it is necessary to specify the order quantity (such as 1,000 pieces / batch), expected delivery time.
Sample requirements: whether to need a sample test first, acceptance criteria for the sample (such as optical performance, interface compatibility).
Driver and software: whether the supplier needs to provide driver programs, initialization code (for SPI/I²C interfaces).
Provide the above information can significantly reduce communication costs and ensure that the customized LCD display screen is perfectly matched with the equipment. If there are any drawings (such as CAD structural component diagrams, interface definition diagrams), or reference samples, they can also be provided together to help the supplier better understand the requirements.
